The first-ever masterclass of Shaheen Afridi in The Hundred Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi has by and by demonstrated why he is the best new-ball bowler on the planet after his one more first-over masterclass during a match between Welsh Fire and Manchester Firsts at the Sophia Nurseries, Cardiff, on Wednesday.

In his first over, Afridi, who is known for his skill with the new ball, tore through the top order of the Originals, taking two wickets in two balls.

Afridi got Phil Salt on the principal bundle of his over with an in-swinging magnificence which hit Salt on the cushion and was ultimately given an LBW out by the umpire.

After Salt's excusal, Laurie Evans came to bat, he was excused by Afridi also with an in-swinging Yorker, hitting Evans on his toes and leaving him stunned.

With Fire defending 95 runs, the start was nothing short of a miracle.

By disrupting the Originals' batters' momentum with his crucial first two deliveries, Shaheen bowled 10 balls and conceded 24 runs while taking two crucial wickets, helping his team win the match by nine runs.

Max Holden and England captain Jos Buttler both scored 37 out of 18, but it wasn't enough.

On the other hand, for the Originals, opener Luke Wills scored 53 off 23 shots and hit 10 boundaries. Fire moved up to first place in the points table with the victory and an impressive run rate of 1.125.

They will play their next game against Southern Valiant on Friday (August 4).
