Najam Sethi, chairman of the management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), confirmed that the national team will host at least two Asia Cup 2023 matches.

Fans wanted to know when the Asia Cup would take place after the PCB's proposed hybrid model was accepted by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The Asian event will begin in Pakistan with four matches before moving to Sri Lanka for the remaining nine.

Pakistan might play Nepal in their country's only group match because India will play in Sri Lanka. The second group, which includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, is likely to host the other three matches in Pakistan.

In the mean time, previous Test cricketer Rashid Latif tweeted that Pakistan will play two matches in Lahore.

Fans were left perplexed regarding this possibility after his tweet went viral on social media.

Sethi, the head of the PCB, has also confirmed that the host nation will host at least two matches.

At least two of Pakistan's matches will be held at home. "Let's wait and watch until we finalize the schedule," he told reporters at the press conference today in Lahore. "We are figuring this out.

The Asia Cup will be played in two phases with a 50-over format from August 31 to September 17. Nepal will host its first Asian competition. The Asian teams will use this competition to get ready for the ICC World Cup in India.

On political grounds, the BCCI refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup last year.

PCB had offered two options in the hybrid model to preserve the event's hosting rights. In the first option, India was asked to play their matches at a neutral location, while Pakistan was to host all other matches.

On Thursday, the second hybrid model option was accepted.
